MIDC has developed an Industrial Area on 10 hectares of land at Palus. The land came under MIDC possession in the year 1992 and the development work started the following year. Presently the industrial area is fully developed as a mini industrial area and relevant infrastructure facilities have been provided in this industrial area. An additional area called Additional Palus is on the cards; this area is 152.21 hectares and 6 km away from Palus Industrial Area. Of the total plottable area, 16 plots in the allotted zone have an area of more than 10 hectares.
Infrastructure
Water
Water supply in the area is via bore well. A proposed permanent water supply scheme through river Krishna is being worked out. A separate ESR and sump are also proposed to be constructed in the Palus and Additional Palus Areas.
Roads
The main roads have 25 m land width and single lanes. Both the main and internal roads that approach the plots are asphalted. Streetlights are erected on the roads.
Power
MSEB provides power supply through a 33 / 11 KVA substation that is located outside the industrial area. There is one incoming transformer of 5 MVA.
Telecommunication Facility / Connectivity
An electronic telephone exchange is operating at Palus town. The exchange has 1,400 lines with an optional ISDN facility to be commissioned shortly; it is connected to the main telephone exchange of Sangli City. Telephones are available on demand.
Streetlights
The streetlights erected along the main and internal roads are provided with 70 W HPSV (High-Pressure Sodium Vapor lamps) on 9 m. high steel tubular poles. A total of 16 lights have been provided in the whole area. There are 30 lamps of 70 W HPSV on the approach road.
